Concertina Tunes from North Antrim

Welcome

Having lived up here on the Causeway Coast of North Antrim for the past 20 years, I thought it was about time I started promoting some of the nice wee tunes I've come across. However, this site is also about promoting the lovely sounds of those Anglo Concertinas which have a more mellow sound than the C/G instruments that you hear in most sessions, today. So if mellow is your middle name & you think you might enjoy listening to tunes played on Bb/F & Ab/Eb Concertinas ... then happy listening. Dick Glasgow

The Hangman’s Rope {Bb/F}

I first learned this tune from the playing of Scottish Flute & Whistle player Kenny Hadden & it wasn't until I came to live near Ballycastle that I found out that it'd been written by Ballycastle man Frank McCollam.

It naturally follows that other great Frank McCollam Hornpipe, The Home Ruler.
