This great Reel, The Road to Ballymac, was composed by Leslie Craig, a very fine musician from Cullybackey, Co. Antrim.

I understand from Leslie, that he originally composed this tune in F, which is fine if, like Leslie, you play the Piano Accordion, or like me, you play a Bb/F Concertina.
Cheers,
Dick

Happy Birthday to my Ab/Eb Jeffries Concertina!

Here's the original receipt, signed by Charles Jeffries himself, on the 26th June 1899, when it was purchased by one Albert Canacott for £7 & 7 Shillings!

Cheers,
Dick
Another tune I learned from the playing of Cloughmills Singer & Fiddle player, Paddy 'Stumpy' Mc Cluskey. Tunes like this "were mostly used for The Four Hand".

This is another excellent composition from Ballycastle man, the late Frank McCollam.
Frank named this Reel after his daughter Catherine Marie, but the tune is more commonly known today as Kate Marie.

REEL: Kate Marie: (Ab/Eb) Music
I first learned this tune from the playing of Scottish Flute & Whistle player Kenny Hadden & it wasn't until I came to live near Ballycastle that I found out that it'd been written by Ballycastle man Frank McCollam.
It naturally follows that other great Frank McCollam Hornpipe, The Home Ruler.
Cheers, Dick
